Working for Corporate America

In February of 2003, I was hired as a network admin for a manufacturing company called Pollak Engineered Products, Switch Products Division, a division of Stoneridge, Inc.. I worked there for three years to the month. I never really liked working there, but it was a good job, with good pay and good hours. I just never got excited about it.

This was really my first "9-5" job. I was still working in high tech but the attitudes there were "work happens from X to Y." In reality, I worked from 6:45am until 3:30pm. This was my choice as I had three shifts to choose from. It was a production facility as well as being an office. I supported mechanical engineers and the network for the most part.

The guy who hired me was great. But he eventually began looking for a new job after deciding it wasn't worth the stress to deal with some of the people he had to report to. I found my self in the same position after his replacement took over and in February of 2006, left Pollak.

During the summer of 2005, my girlfriend and I parted ways. We are still friends, however, and we see each other from time to time.

The great unknown...
